Chloe set her box on her bed, looking around. She straightened up her reading glasses before starting to situate her things. The door was wide open, since she would be going in and out, so anyone could drop by. Of course, Chloe didn't think anyone would. She didn't even think she was noticed by anyone. Which was fine by her. Fixing the strap on her overalls, she turned to get her next box, when she bumped right into somebody

Open doors were like welcome signs. And if you lived in the residence halls then it was even more true. When you had a building packed full of people in rooms that lined a hall, leaving a door open was an invitation to check it out. So, Davey didn't even have to rationalize approaching it as he headed down the hall. If it was closed, he wouldn't have paid it any attention at all; not unless he knew the person inside. So, out of curiosity and lack of better things to do, he took a turn and ran right into the occupant.
He took a step back to give the person distance and looked over the girl that he'd just walked into. Oh great, one of those. Overalls and glasses. The girl might as well have announced to the world that she didn't know how to have a good time. And out of the kindness of his heart, he thought he should probably help her out. "Might wanna up the prescription on those if you can't see people in front of your face." He suggested, letting her know that he was going to blame her for bumping into him. Even if they were equally guilty.

Chloe smiled sweetly "oh! no, they're reading glasses" she said and took them off, setting them on her desk "uhm..can I help you?" she asked sweetly

"Then, you might want to start thinking about actual glasses." Davey noted. Without waiting for more of an invitation, he walked into the room and looked around. Maybe she'd decorate it more interestingly once she was finished moving in-- Maybe. The boxes were an obvious sign that she was just now moving into the room. He walked over to the bed, not at all shy about making himself comfortable in someone else's room, and plopped down. "No, but I'm pretty sure I can help you."
There was definitely an arrogance in the way that he carried himself, both in body language and the tone that stayed with his voice. "I'm Davey, by the way." And with the introduction, he expected to get one in turn.

Chloe watched him "you came to help me move in?" she guessed. That was what her mind was on, and anyways, she wasn't in need of help with anything else! When he introduced himself, she put up a finger to tell him one minute before pulling out a baby wipe and wiping her hands clean, then extended a hand to shake his "I'm Chloe Karr"

"What?" That was the last thing his mind was on! He looked at the boxes and then shook his head. "Oh, no, no not that." It was hard enough to get him to do work for himself, let alone to help somebody else. No, he was more than happy not helping her move in. Well, unless it involved replacing all of her things with something less boring then he might help. He watched as she wiped her hands, but then reached his own hand out and shook hers quickly before he let it fall back.
"I was thinking more along the lines of your appearance. Not exactly eye-catching." In his opinion, people should want to be noticed. And she'd probably be really hot if she dressed differently and didn't appear to be nerdy. She could be one of those shocker stories-- Then, when everybody wanted her, he could be the first to snag her! It was like uncovering a prize!

Chloe gave him a look that asked him if he was serious. Shaking her head, she said "I don't really care. I'm here for an education, not to catch eyes" whatever that meant.

The response provoked Davey to gaze at her boredly. What good was an education if you didn't have fun while getting it? He never understood the types that focused so much on it. You'd never find him blockaded off in a room studying. College was unbearable if all you did was work. There were too many interesting people around-- You should want to catch someone's attention!
"That's boring. Do you go to parties?" He asked leaning forward and resting his chin against his hands. Davey actually figured that she probably hadn't been to a party in her entire life. He would teach her how to have fun though! He thought it was the least that he could do.

"It's not to me" she corrected him, opening her book and pulling out her laptop. She wasn't boring!...Her laptop was green! Actually, green was her favorite color. Green and pink. Most of her stuff was a combination of the two "I'm not much of the partying type. Loud music and alcohol...not my kind of scene"

Davey stared at her, wondering if she was really real. Alcohol and loud music made the world better. Without it, you had silence and sobriety and that just made him want to cringe. He couldn't stand a life like that. It would drive him insane, and he refused to believe that anyone could live a life happily that way. There needed to be fun! There had to be some chaos! "What? You got something against music?" He enquired, glancing at her laptop. Well, hey, green was a cool colour for a laptop, at least.
His was actually pretty boring-- White. Very standard and very much lacking anything interesting. So, he was actually somewhat impressed. He just wished she had more to impress him about other than a laptop. Being impressed by that just made him feel like a geek. "Have you even been to a party?"

"I don't mind music. It's loud music that I don't like. Especially after ten when people are studying or trying to sleep." At his question, she scoffed "of course I have!" because, birthday parties for herself and her family counted, right?

"Who sleeps at ten?" Davey asked, as if she was insane for even considering ten to be a late hour. For him, the night didn't end until early morning and sometimes it just never ended at all. He wasn't the type that gave in to sleep early. He had his most excitement at night. When she said she'd been to a party though, he looked immediately interested.
"Oh yeah? When?" He asked, wanting to hear about her partying experience. He figured that she couldn't actually have a bad opinion unless she had been to one. And if she came out with a bad one then obviously it wasn't a very good party.

"last July. I went to a party last July" she said with a nod "not that it's your business" she plugged in her laptop and then reached down in the box and pulled out a flower lamp and set it beside her computer

"Why wouldn't it be? Was it that private?" When someone partied wasn't generally information that couldn't be told to almost-strangers. Even if it was personal, he would still pry for it. He didn't care if it wasn't his business. Davey made a point to make everything his business. He sat up a little straighter, not quite as bored now that she had more potential.
"What'd you do there? Was it loud? Did you get to sleep before ten?" If she had slept before ten on the night of a party, then he'd have to question what the hell type of party she'd been going to. Parties were usually just getting good as night fell.

Chloe backed up, almost tripping over her desk "I-I.." she was feeling pretty darned overwhelmed! "I have boxes to pick up"
