Personality (in 3-4 sentences): Vengeful, scam-artist, and liar are three personality traits that usually make up the last type of person anyone wants to hang out with. David will say anything to get his way, whether it's the truth or a lie. He loves to take advantage of situations and when he feels he's wronged, he'll triple the offence to get back. While those harsher traits impact his personality a lot, he isn't a terrible person. He's just out to have fun and to keep his own spirits at their best. Blunt and opinionated, he always has something to say. In fact, it's pretty hard to shut him up most of the time. When it comes to friends, he can the best friend they've got until he's crossed.
History (in 3-4 sentences):
Living in a world where every answer leads to yes, David had never been one to engage in following direction. By the age of three, his parents had discovered that reverse psychology worked best with the toddler. Whenever he was told not to do something, it was taken as a challenge and if given permission, he’d sooner lose interest than to seek out that behaviour. This mix and match of what was right and wrong led to a lot of confusion in the young boy, but he took advantage of it, even as he grew older. When his parents attempted to lay a firm hand down, he would throw tantrums, often leading the adults to give anything to quiet him. Not at all unintelligent, little Davey was sharp and quick to learn. When not being a complete brat, he was a symbol of pride for the family. Too many family get-togethers revolved around what David had learned to do. His mother tried to offer him all of the love and tenderness that one person could. She believed that punishment was more hurtful than helpful. So, when he acted out, he received more love than he would otherwise.
Both of his parents were very successful; his father a lawyer and his mother held office in a large trading company. Even while they were busy, they attempted to give attention to their child first and foremost. He became lost in their careers occasionally, but it was difficult to ever ignore Davey for very long. For only a couple of months did he ever have a nanny and she had been fired after one of Davey’s infamous fits to get rid of her. Often enough, his father tried to take him with him and pawn him off on a co-worker at the firm whenever he couldn’t have the child at his side. His mother did the same.
Once he reached primary school, he was given the opportunity to put his mind to work. He was always busy, always becoming brighter and brighter. However, school also gave him fresh exploration ideas. The boy was a daredevil. Before they were given playtime, teachers often would warn of certain dangers and what not to do on the playground or with the toys and that only led to him trying it out. Whether it be attempting to slide on wet concrete or leaping off the swings and jungle gyms, he did it. And when he got in trouble, he reverted back to fits until his parents were called to bring him home again.
As far as other children went, David interacted well with them. He made plenty of friends, despite his disposition not to share. Most of his friends were close and he did care about them. However, he couldn’t help but put his own needs before theirs. Whenever they upset him in any way, he would grow rude or snobbish, but he never lost one of them. He just wasn’t the type of boy that anyone wanted to turn their back on. At home, he was still allowed to continue the behaviour that had barely changed since the early period of his childhood. At eight years old, he was still throwing tantrums to get his way.
When he wasn’t being a handful, David was a generally normal boy. He goofed off, played pranks and was full of laughter. Unless he was throwing a fit, it was hard to catch him not laughing or carrying on. He was a lot of fun unless you crossed him and then he turned the world to Hell.
As the years progressed, Davey grew from a troublesome little kid to what seemed like an easier going adolescent. The only true different was his restrictions. His parents had stopped watching his every move and gave him more freedom without having to beg for it. His mother still continued to baby him, while his father became sceptical of his maturity. At thirteen, his stable world started to unravel for the first time and for once he had to struggle internally with himself.
All his life, David knew something was different about him. But, it wasn’t until his teen years that he really put it into perspective. Thirteen didn’t bring him a sudden interest in only girls-- He was seeing boys from a different light as well. Afraid, he spent a lot of time in confusion, like most non-straight boys and girls. Secretly, David only did what he did best when he was confused about something. He explored and looked for answers. He wasn’t promiscuous in the least, but did try to create relationships with various people to discover himself. It was with another young boy that helped rip his life apart. At fifteen, his little secret family came out, and by no intent of his own.
They were just two fifteen year old boys exploring a relationship. It was healthy and they never took anything too far. By this time, David had already had both boyfriends and girlfriends and was fully aware that he was attracted to both. Now, his normal friends never spent any time at a local pool hall and so when his boyfriend at the time suggested it, he followed along. They only hung out in private. No one was supposed to know. But, there was an unexpected guest at the pool hall that night. It was hard to disguise kissing as anything but that, and that was exactly what his so-called best friend had stepped in on. Confronted about it, Davey watched as his friend turned from to disgust, to anger and then to hate in a matter of minutes.
The next day-- The entire school knew.
Secondary school had been okay for him before that point. He had a fair group of friends and was constantly relishing in his social life. But, once that news struck the hallways, everyone that had been his friend turned their back on him. Boys like Davey only attracted friends much like himself. They were all judgemental in their own way and could be incredibly cold when given a reason to. It was his first taste of homophobia and he had no plans to take it. He planned to strike out with vengeance.
Every personal bit of information that he knew about his friends, he exploited. He spread rumours, pulled pranks, and dedicated his school career to making their lives Hell. It was less than they deserved after all. He reinvented himself that year. He cared less about people than he had in his entire life. While he still made the occasional friend, he made them with all of the wrong people. Like every other teenager, he dated, but he never became very attached to anyone. Most of the time it was for his own entertainment anyway. Several relationships ended with him cheating multiple times and the only friends he had were party buddies and the kind that liked to stir up trouble with him.
This phase didn’t change either, it was ongoing and only began to fade once, only to erupt again worse than ever.
After graduation, he was stuck in a definite rut. Unsure about what he wanted to do other than have fun and be infamous, he stayed in limbo. His parents allowed it, with the belief that he would figure it out and when he did they would help him reach it. Life for David Ricci was good and only had room to get better-- For a short while, it did.
After a series of failed relationships with men and women, Davey met someone that surprised him wholly when he was nineteen. The person in question was a man, ten years his senior. He never expected that being love-sick was ever strike him, but not even he was immune to it. It was at a club that the two met. He was an American, a military man-- Marine to be exact. At the time, he didn’t even know it, given that he wasn’t just going to disclose that information in a gay club. Away from home in a foreign country, it was the perfect opportunity to live a double life and David ended up a part of that. Of course, just a few days after they had met, the man disclosed information about himself, most of which intrigued the young David. He was a marine, so his entire sexuality was risky. Davey became a dirty little secret and it thrilled him. He knew of who his friends were, that he had a wife and a two year old daughter in the states and every little detail that he needed.
Unfortunately for David, he made a stronger attachment to his boyfriend than he received in return. Six months passed and when it was time for his marine to leave, David questioned the status of their relationship only to be told that it was the end of the line. Not only was it the end, but it was never all that meaningful. He was a good experience, that was it. Hurt, and angry, the vengeful Davey returned and set out to make his ex-lover pay.
He outed him, sent pictures to his wife, his commanding officers, spread the word to let any buddy he had in on the secret. If he wanted to hurt him, he was going to destroy his entire life-- Leave him divorced, discharged and friendless. Unfortunately, it was the marine’s friends that decided to take action on the kid destroying the soldier’s life, not to mention exposing something that they never wanted to hear about. The threats started rolling in and it wasn’t long before his parents became privy to what had been going on.
Disgusted and outraged, his father was prepared to kick him out right then and there. However, still being his mother’s baby, she reasoned with him and wouldn’t allow her son to be kicked out. From that moment on, it was settled that he needed to get his life together. No longer wanting him in the house, his father settled for sending him to a University where they wouldn’t have to hear of his exploits and maybe he’d return with a firm head on his shoulders.
David had the smarts and his parents had the money. Off to Westminster, he went. Home still isn’t far away, but he rarely visits. Only on breaks does he make an appearance and even that had been rare in his first year. In college, he has freedom, money, parties and anything he could want at an arms length. It’s not so bad, really. He just has to put up with class.

Quirks/Mannerisms: Davey is 80 percent talk. He’s not really the best fighter physically, but tends to make people think that he is. While he breaks plenty of hearts, he’s terrified of getting his own broken again.
Flaws: Davey has several flaws. He can’t make solid connections with people due to his attitude and the way he treats them. He has a habit of breaking hearts and using both men and women.
