"Just give it up already. I'm not going away and I'm not buying it. You need someone and since I'm the only one here, I'm going to be that for you. I don't care how much you protest it either." Luke could be stubborn, especially when he knew that he was doing the right thing. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that this was right either. His hand stayed on her arm, firmly gripped there to emphasize how little he planned to move.

"I'm doing fine on my own. I have an apartment, and I had a job." she said, trying to get out of his grip "all you're doing is ruining it for me" because, doing Heroine was part of doing fine!

"You're doing heroin and stripping for money... That's not okay. I don't know what twisted world you learned that from. But, it's not." He said firmly. Luke wasn't going to believe that he was ruining it for her. She was ruining herself with her behaviour. His attempt to help wasn't going to make it worse. The only one that could do that was her.

"whatever. You think you're so much better" she hissed as she took the needle out. The drug had been used up anyways. She stood up and grabbed her purse again and headed out of the alley

"I'm not out shooting up and stripping for money, am I?" He considered himself to be better. But, he thought that she could be better too. She didn't have to resort to this! But, he knew it was going to be difficult to get through to her. He stood and followed, not about to leave her alone. Hadn't she figured that out already? "Cara, I'm not just going to let you go."

"maybe you should start, it would loosen you up" she retorted

"Yeah, sorry, I kind of value my life a little more than that and you should too." Because, in his opinion, you couldn't value yourself if you did any of those things. That wasn't someone that appreciated life. It was someone that was misled and desperate-- Someone that needed help. And because she was family, he couldn't abandon her. He didn't have the heart to do that.

Cara scoffed "please" she said with a shake of her head

"You're ruining your life." Luke added as an after-thought. He concerned himself with her life because she was his sister. If she was anyone else, he would be worried, but he was going to invest a lot more time in her than he would just anyone. "You're worth a whole lot more and I'm not going to let you throw it all away." And regardless of how she felt about that, he wasn't going to give up on her. She could be stubborn and continue to protest against his help, but he wouldn't stop. He could be just as stubborn.

"that's your opinion. I'm happy with the way my life is right now" was she really? No. She was working at the sleaziest of jobs, she had no real friends. But the 16 year old wasn't willing to admit that

[size=1"There's no way," Luke didn't believe for even a fraction of a second that she enjoyed her life. Nobody could enjoy that. To him, the people that went up there on stage were probably miserable in reality. They were practically selling their souls on stage! While he just couldn't care about everyone, he did care when the person was related or a friend of his. And she fell under the related category. "Nobody likes doing it." Well, he couldn't speak for everyone, but he assumed that they didn't.

"well then that must make me special" she said, tapping his nose with a smirk. she pulled out a piece of gum and slowly, sensually, slid it into her mouth, just to get to him

Luke's brow furrowed as she tapped his nose and then had to go about her little display with the gum. It was disgusting, that's all that it was! And he didn't want his sister prancing around like some--some slut. Even when he thought about it, he felt guilty. It didn't take a lot to make him feel that way either. "Cara, stop it! You don't have a clue what you're getting yourself into! You're drugged up."

"I'm well aware of what I'm doing. If I didn't know, then I-I would be overwhelmed. But I'm not. I'm comfortable enough to strip in front of anyone, even a faggot like you" she hissed, turning from him again

Luke glared at her, but was doing his best to not lose his patience. He had started to wonder if he could just pick her up, haul her back and tie her up until she stopped acting that way. It would be wrong, but it would sure make him feel better! "Shut up. At least I'm not trying to get the attention of a bunch of sleazy guys! How can you call that comfortable?" He retorted and grabbed her arm.
