Cara sat backstage, getting ready. She had been doing this for a week and was still getting used to the nauseating feeling she got every time she was about to go on stage. She missed her old life, her mom and the occassional phone call from her brother. How ironic--she was in the city he lived in and hadn't contacted him at all. Why? For the most part, she was too proud to admit she needed rescued. But, there was a tiny part of her that was ashamed of what she had gotten herself into.
Who knew a person could get addicted so fast? Cara was dependent on Heroine now. She inhaled as the drug went through the needle and into her veins.
"Double L, you're on" a bouncer told her. Did fifteen minutes really go by that fast? She hadn't even noticed. Taking her needle out and hiding it and the remaining Heroine, she stepped onto the platform as "Lusty Lily" was announced. And as she walked onto the stage and was wolf-whistled at, sweet, innocent Cara was left wondering what happened to her, and Lily swung herself onto a pole and then scanned the audience for some chap to give a lap dance to.

Luke hadn't been in the club before tonight. He had been to a strip-club before, sure-- But, the women held no effect on him and they weren't places he frequented. The only other times he'd set foot in one with women was at the coaxing of his friends. Tonight, he was with a group again, but this time there was actually an occasion behind it. It was his friend's bachelor party and even Luke agreed that there wasn't a better place to spend it.
The group sat close to the stage, laughing and talking while the majority of them kept their eyes fixed on the stage ahead of them, cheering at the young girl on stage. Luke didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the show itself. He was more interested in playfully teasing his friend and joining in with their chatter. A couple of the louder ones started whistling and shouting at the girl.
"Hey baby, over here!" They called out, pointing to the soon-to-be-married man.
"Hey!" The groom to be yelped at his friends, embarrassed. But, it wasn't the first time they had tried to get a stripper's attention either.
If Luke had gotten a closer look at her, he would've been shocked and upset at who was on stage. He wouldn't have let his little sister be exploited up there in front of all those men. But, since he wasn't really checking out much, he didn't recognize her just yet and instead laughed at his friends and nudged the friend that the entire party was for. "Awe, what're you shy?" He teased, good-naturedly.

The shout worked. Cara maneuvered as sexily as she could over to the group and started dancing in front of them. It was earning a living--right? As she made her way off the stage, she straddled the lap at who they had been pointing at and flung her hair backwards, before she spotted her brother. This was not how she wanted their reunion to be--while she was on the lap of some guy she didn't know. But, she was at work, and he didn't seem to be paying too much attention. So, playing it cool, she grinned sexily at the man she was on top of and started to slide her already-revealing shirt off

Only because this one actually went to his friend did Luke get a closer look at her. As she straddled his friend, his eyes narrowed. There was no denying who she was. It became blatantly obvious and the surprise and outrage were written all over his face. While his friends whistled and cheered, and the embarrassed bachelor couldn't help but blush, he suddenly had stood up in his chair and seized her arm, actually tugging her off of the man's lap.
"Luke! What the hell--" His friends watched him in shock. In fact, everyone that had been watching wasn't ready to see someone grab the stripper. Security would be on him in seconds, he was sure, but he grabbed her anyway.
"Cara! What are you doing?!" It was so wrong-- She wasn't even old enough to be in one of these clubs! And even if she was, he wasn't about to watch his little sister strip for everyone else's enjoyment.

Cara yelped when he grabbed her "let go of me!" she hissed at him "making some money, what does it look like?!" She wasn't being herself, that was certain. In the corner of her eye, she could see Justin, the manager, watching.

"In the most degrading way!" Well, there were probably worse things, but this ranked up there! "You're not even old enough to be in here! Let alone dancing! Come on, get your clothes, we're going." No way was he about to just let her continue what she was doing. Hell no! His friends had gone completely silent, not about to object. As her brother, he couldn't in good conscience let her continue, or leave without her. He had to get her out of that sleazy club. He didn't know how long she'd been doing this, but he hoped it hadn't been long. Not knowing she was so close by doing this shit bothered him deeply. If she was this desperate, he could have been there for her!

"shut up!" she snapped when he mentioned her age. Everyone here thought she was nineteen. As he raised her voice, Justin walked over "everything okay, love?" he asked her
"it's fine" she said quietly, not about to get herself fired

"Uh-- No, it's not!" Luke spoke up, not about to let her get away with that. "Unless you want me to report your ass for hiring underage girls, I suggest you let her go." He warned, requesting that he fire her. He wasn't about to let her continue working here. She might not want everyone to know that she wasn't old enough, but he was going to let everyone know it. It was safer for her that way! She shouldn't be allowed to work here!

"underage??" he looked at Cara, glaring now "get your things and get out"
"right, because honesty is such a virtue in a strip club!" she snapped at her former boss. Embarrassed, angry, and with drugs in her system, she stormed off from Luke, heading backstage

Problem solved! Well, semi-solved. Her having a job here was finished and that's what he wanted to hear. As she headed off backstage, Luke followed, even if he probably wasn't supposed to be wandering backstage at a strip club. "I can't believe you." He was already starting in on the lecture as he followed her. "What were you thinking? If you needed money, this isn't the way!" He didn't even know what she needed money for to begin with! Their father wasn't poor, he knew that much about the man.

"I could be out prostituting myself!" she snapped at him, grabbing her purse and holding it close. She wanted to use some more of her Heroine, but she didn't have that much left. "which, since you just got me fired, I may have to do!" even though, 16 year olds shouldn't have to do anything. They should be at home.

"--You're not, are you?" Fear washed over his face. That was ten times worse, and he really didn't need to hear that come out of her mouth. When she said she might have to, however, he shook his head. "To hell you're not! I won't let you. You don't even need to be here! You've got a home!" Well, last he checked she had had a home. He didn't keep close contact with his father and never had. And whenever he did hear from him, it wasn't to discuss his sister. Although, there had been once or twice that he asked about her. Still, if there was anything that he knew his dad was good for, it was a check. Even now, at 24, if he fell into a bad spot, he could count on him giving him a little help. Although he'd never ask for it, he was aware that it was there. Sometimes he figured any money he was given was more of a guilt check. Sorry, you were born! Will this make it better?

"yeah, that's what I thought too. Till I called him to get me and his number was changed" she said rudely, not even mentioning that she had run away

Luke was surprised at the news. He just up and changed his number on her? He didn't assume that she had run away. Honestly, he had no clue why she was even in London and not with her dad. He was fully aware that he didn't know his father very well, so maybe he was the type to do that. "So, what? He sent you out here and then changed his number?" He asked, figuring that he had something to do with her being here. Surely, she hadn't come by herself!

Cara scoffed. She was prepared to lie, but still her voice suddenly went high-pitched as she said "yeah. he did" she cleared her throat and repeated "he did", but if Luke knew her at all, he would know she was lying, and she knew it. She hated her stupid voice!
